Small RNA is a kind of non-coding RNA with lengths ranging from 18-30nt. They come in a wide variety of types, including miRNA, piRNA, endo-siRNA and snoRNA. miRNA, the most common research type, is mainly ranged from 20-24nt in length, and it is widely found in animals and plants. In animals, the main function of miRNA is to inhibit the translation of mRNA after transcription. In plants, the main function of miRNA is to degrade target mRNA directly. Sequencing was performed on the Illumina platform, and miRNA analysis was conducted for reference genome samples.
